San Francesco Beach
It is said that during his trip westwards, Saint Francis spoke to fishes from the rock which todays bears his name and on which a cross has been placed in his honor. Between the port of Agropoli and the much more famous bay of Trentova, there is this small beach of sand and small rocks, which you can easily reach walking from the port along Via San Francesco where you can see the small church also dedicated to the Poverello of Assisi (Poor Man of Assisi).
Trentova Beach
The thirty eggs shown in the name probably refer to the turtles ones found in one of the caves surrounding them between the rocks covered by a wild vegetation. Trentova beach separates them from the sea, a narrow strip of sand bathed by a green emerald sea which then changes into all shades of blue. Not surprisingly, it has been declared a few years ago “Italian wonder” and it is among the most beautiful beaches of the northern part of the Cilento coast. Easy to reach, with equipped lidos, families and elderly people are frequenting it, also for the shallow water. Ideal for those who like snorkeling, and it is famous for its characteristic white rock painted in blue by the reflections of the sea, telling the stories of Homeric heroes and mermaids.
